Frequently Asked Questions

Does this count toward my CE?
Yes. Successful completion satisfies the 4-hour elective portion of your North Carolina CE requirement. You must also complete the appropriate annual Update course—GENUP or BICUP. This elective does not replace your mandatory Update course.

When do I get my certificate?
You will receive a course completion certificate after your attendance and participation have been verified. Encompass reports your completion to NCREC within seven calendar days; you do not need to submit the certificate yourself.

Can I take the class on my phone?
No. Encompass requires a desktop, laptop, or comparable tablet with a working camera, audio, and reliable internet connection. Although the class covers the RPR Mobile app, cell phones are not permitted as your device for attending the Zoom class.

Does my camera have to stay on throughout the class?
Yes. Effective July 1, 2026, 21 NCAC 58H .0101(15) requires students in synchronous distance learning courses to remain visible on camera to satisfy attendance requirements. Keep your camera on and yourself clearly visible throughout all instruction; scheduled breaks are excluded. Failure to comply with Encompass’s camera requirements results in no CE credit and no refund, free rescheduling, or transfer credit.

Can RPR help me find sales outside my MLS and research other states?
Yes. RPR combines nationwide public-record information with available MLS data, allowing you to research recorded sales that may not appear in your MLS and develop CMAs for properties in other states. Data availability and reporting timelines vary by location, and MLS access depends on participation and your permissions. Brokers must evaluate the suitability of each comparable and understand the local market; access to data does not authorize brokerage activity in a state where you are not licensed.
